Baiju Shah
President and CEO, Greater Cleveland Partnership
Baiju R. Shah is president and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the region's leading economic development organization and, with more than 12,000 members, the largest metropolitan chamber of commerce in the nation. GCP works to accelerate growth and prosperity through strategic initiatives, real estate investment and advocacy. He took the helm in April 2021.
Before GCP he was Senior Fellow for Innovation at the Cleveland Foundation, where he led the Cleveland Innovation Project. Earlier he was CEO of BioMotiv and co-leader of The Harrington Project for Discovery & Development, a national drug development initiative, and CEO and co-founder of BioEnterprise, an accelerator formed with Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals. He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company and holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Yale. He chairs Ohio Excels, is a trustee of the Ohio Business Roundtable, sits on the advisory board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and serves on the boards of Destination Cleveland, Team NEO and Global Cleveland. He has been named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
He spoke at Greyt Big Talk in September 2021 at Wendy Park, in a talk called "All-In Towards a Great Region on a Great Lake."

Whiskey Island, Cleveland, OH
Wendy Park is a 22-acre Cleveland Metroparks lakefront park on Whiskey Island. More than 260 bird species have been spotted there, and the 500-foot Wendy Park Bridge links it to the mainland. Its landmark is the white former Coast Guard station designed by J. Milton Dyer, which opened in 1940. The Coast Guard left in 1976, the City of Cleveland bought the station for $1 in 2003, Cuyahoga County bought the surrounding land in 2004 and opened the park in 2005, and the Metroparks bought Whiskey Island in 2014. In September 2021 Greyt Big Talk gathered under the trees on the shore, facing the station, for Greater Cleveland Partnership president and CEO Baiju Shah's talk "All-In Towards a Great Region on a Great Lake."

GREYT BIG TALK is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community taking place in pop-up locations on the third Friday of every month in Cleveland.
Each event features: • local culinary artisan breakfast and coffee, • live music performances • original art by local designers • startup pitches for anything our community is making • a short talk from a successful creative person • all filmed to share with our community online. Since our founding in January of 2015, we’ve hosted nearly 10,000 attendees in pop-up locations all over the city of Cleveland. This month's talk will take place in Cleveland Public Square and Feature Baiju Shah.

Baiju R. Shah is the President & CEO of Greater Cleveland Partnership, the region’s leading economic development organization. With nearly 12,000 members, GCP is the largest metro chamber of commerce in the nation. Guided by a board of corporate and entrepreneurial CEOs, the organization focuses on accelerating growth and inclusive prosperity through strategic initiatives, business services, real estate, and advocacy.
Prior to GCP, Shah served as the Senior Fellow for Innovation at The Cleveland Foundation—the world’s first community foundation with assets of $2.8 billion—CEO of BioMotiv and co-leader of The Harrington Project, and CEO of BioEnterprise. Shah serves as a Senior Advisor to FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, a Trustee of Destination Cleveland, Global Cleveland, and Ohio Excels, and a Director of Athersys.
