About the organization
CLE Reads, styled #CLEReads, is a free young adult book festival presented by Cleveland Public Library, which bills it as Cleveland's premier young adult book festival. It was co-founded by Northeast Ohio author Justin A. Reynolds as a festival for middle-grade and young adult readers and writers, and its first edition took over the library's Louis Stokes Wing downtown on July 13, 2019, pairing local authors with award-winning and bestselling writers from across the country to promote literacy and a love of reading among Cleveland's young people.
The festival celebrates stories that encourage young readers to find their voices and advocate for personal and community well-being, with authors of YA fiction and nonfiction on intellectual freedom, social justice, community and mental health. Past guests have included Angela Davis and Jerry Craft.
