Nature Spark

Nature Spark is the Ohio naturalist services business of conservation specialist, field biologist and naturalist Judy Semroc. Drawing on more than 35 years of hands-on teaching, it offers guided field trips for groups of up to 25, on anything from birds and butterflies to local geology, at parks, preserves and private lands; biological inventories and property surveys for homeowners, farms, park districts, land conservancies and state nature preserves; and nature programs for schools, libraries, scouts, garden clubs and conferences, including Monarch butterfly tagging and Chimney Swift tower programs. It also helps plan pollinator and wildflower gardens, rain gardens and outdoor land labs.

Semroc, a former petroleum geologist and science teacher, founded Chrysalis in Time, the first Ohio chapter of the North American Butterfly Association, and co-authored field guides to the dragonflies and damselflies (2008) and the goldenrods (2017) of Northeast Ohio.
