Bio

Anna Cerveny is a physical therapist, dancer and choreographer, and the founder and director of Cleveland Dance Project, an all-adult dance, fitness and wellness studio. She started it in June 2017 to give adults who want to keep dancing at a challenging level a place to train, choreograph and perform together. Today it is the largest all-adult dance group in the Cleveland and Akron area, with fall and spring seasons of weekly rehearsals building to a showcase, drop-in classes for every level and a summer training season.

Cerveny grew up in dance, training at the Royal School of Ballet and in summer programs at Bengbu Ballet, BalletMet and the Nutmeg Conservatory, and kept dancing through a B.S. in chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 2013. She spent her first year as a physical therapist touring with the Broadway production of War Horse, then came home to Cleveland. At University Hospitals she became a lead therapist and clinical specialist and founded its dance rehabilitation program, working with dancers from Cleveland Ballet and Case Western Reserve University's dance program.

She spoke at Greyt Big Talk in May 2023 at the INTRO Cleveland Courtyard, in a talk called "Just Keep Moving."
