Child of 10 Years

“How are you THAT old!?“

My friends, This month marks 10 years of celebrating Cleveland’s creative communities for GREYT CULTURE. It’s hard to believe the time that’s passed, an incredible list of things we’ve done and even more on the horizon. Some of the best events we’ve been able to organize are currently on the upcoming calendar thanks to the expansive group of creative minds who have come together to share their best learnings and life lessons this past decade — I could talk about it for days, but I find myself welcomed by nostalgia this morning, a dangerous drug that’ll suck you in.

Do you remember being 10 years old? I wish I remembered better, being a child of 10 years… You’re an idiot of course, at least I was, but the potential to be anything, what might become, of the next chapter, the infinite potential of life. Children are so inspiring in that way, and If I can, I’ll always hold on to that piece of hopeful childlike possibility in everything I do.

On this next chapter for Greyt Culture, I’m looking for a good adventure. One of my favorite adventurers, On his birthday, Bilbo Baggins proclaimed “I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”  Not the most popular guy Bilbo, and certainly not the purest of heart, but he did know that the adventure is largely about the company and chose as wisely as he could.

Thank you so much, to all of you for being in my company all this time. It has been a blessing and an honor.

On October 18th - for the final GOLDEN HOUR SUNSET CONCERT of 2024 we’re partnering with LAGO EAST BANK to present the concert and TechTalk from the 4th floor terrace of the Oswald Centre, formerly EY Tower.

The TechTalk is being presented by Case Weatherhead School of Management and we’re focusing on THE GREAT BUSINESS OWNERSHIP TRANSITION. The panel is full of experienced experts to help shed light on the pathways for opportunity in the wave of business transitions happening due to baby boomer retirement. Check the detail on the event listing

The music features are dear friends of Greyt Culture - Taylor Lamborn has performed with us a few times, and Nate Saggio is heading up the Twilight DJ Set. People In The Daytime are a young group in the Cleveland music scene, rapidly rising, and A LOT of fun.

We’ve also announced Greyt Big Talk in November at The Kennedy Theatre, a speakeasy below the Mimi Ohio, and featuring Michael Brakavia, the new director of The Cleveland Playhouse - the arm of Playhouse Square dedicated to original works.

In December, We head to the Cleveland Museum of Arts' Pivot Art Center, featuring Ariel Vergez, Aka BLACK BRAIN - my favorite of the Cleveland Transformative Arts Grant projects. Ariel has built much of his work and career in the Miami Florida arts scene, educated at the Cleveland Institute of Art. This year he’s leading a project to install over 40 murals and sculptures in Clark Fulton, to re-energize the entire neighborhood with art and expressions of the human perspective.  Learn more about Ariel here.

I hope you’ll join us for these events, members sign up for Greyt Big Talk for free. If you have questions for me, reach out any time.

Much love, T Fox
