If you had a crystal ball that could tell your future, would you use it?
I’ve asked you guys this before, hell, I’ve asked myself this before, it’s a tempting thought. You might have an altruistic answer on how you could use the clairvoyant intel to create a better outcome for the world, or maybe a better outcome just for yourself - I wouldn’t judge either way… but would you use it?
I don’t think I would. It’d be like opening a book and reading the last few pages first - watching the finale of the new Ted Lasso season before episode 1… robbing yourself of the joy in the journey - if you don’t have that, what’s it all for? No, I don’t need or want a Chrystal ball. What I have is better - knowing that If and when I make a mistake, I didn’t intend to, and it’ll be ok.
We’ve been hard at work designing Greyt Culture’s 2023 live programs to connect people facing the decisions of what to do next with no guidance but their own and the knowledge shared by their peers past and present. Typically I like to make sure our speakers are VERY different from each other to help us all gain perspective - but this year I find it intriguing that “The News” our means of telling stories and learning each other's truths is changing in wild ways. I’d say at least half of our planned speakers are connected to the diaspora of journalism, which is finally growing sturdy branches after the collapse of print newsrooms and the maturation of Web 3.0.
The first speaker of the year is a writer and publicist who turned his focus to AI advancements in the field of marketing and public relations before the pandemic. What does this new tech mean for creatives, artists, and casual inter-actors? If you’re reading this on thatsgreyt.com the lady drinking coffee at the top is totally fake. She was made in mere moments by DALL · E 2 - is this bad news?… maybe, a new chapter is being written right now and I can’t put it down.
I'd like to welcome our newest members/partners to Greyt Culture. Brite Energy Innovators, Clockwork 9, Dollar Bank, Northish, Organizational Architecture, Stormy Sweitzer, and Scarlett Chepka.
If you’re receiving this letter - You're a friend, partner, past speaker, or simply someone I’d love to join us for coffee. Send me an email and I’ll add you to the guest list at no cost until our registration is full. I mean it, just ask. If you can’t make it out, begrudging the dreary cold weather, just remember, the highest concentration of babies born is around 7-9 months from right now. To all you lovers out there cheers to 6 more weeks of winter. ;-)
Yours truly,
Thomas Fox
