The Judith Cafe

French-inspired neighborhood cafe on Lorain Avenue

About the organization

The Judith is a French-inspired neighborhood cafe at 5222 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland, owned and run by partners in life and business Jennie Doran, its chef, and Andrew Worm. It opened in February 2023 in a 125-year-old building that once housed the Guide to Kulchur bookstore, reworked into an intimate European-style cafe of about 28 seats, and is a sister to the couple's Room Service boutique.

The cafe is named for Andrew's mother, Judith, a chic, design-minded woman who spoke French to her children for the love of the language. It describes itself as a space for gathering, connection and beauty, a place to eat, drink and spend time well. It welcomes walk-ins rather than reservations, stays open into the evening later in the week, and hosts events.
